What is Counselling
The BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) describes counselling as " a safe and confidential space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns"
As your counsellor, I will listen to whatever you bring to the room, as we build a safe and trusting professional relationship.
I will help you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Helping you to understand yourself and your relationships with others.
I do not offer advice or tell you what you need to do, we explore what you need, to have autonomy to work through your challenges.
Gestalt Counselling
Gestalt Counselling is a humanistic form of therapy that aims to look at a person as a whole. The counsellor will work on helping the client gain awareness of their situation, and better understand how they relate to others. With new awareness the client may have a new perspective and be able to make positive and practical changes to their life.
Gestalt Therapy can be short-term 6-8 sessions but can also be used in long-term and open-ended therapy.
